Originally from Vietnam, Dr. Chung earned his medical degree from the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgery residency. Prior to joining Northwest Health Tucson Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Chung served as the chief physician xxtern at an outpatient clinic in New York. Before that, he worked as a research assistant in the Cardiovascular Research Department at the Methodist Hospital in Indiana, authoring several posters, case reports and research papers. One of his ongoing research projects focuses on detecting blood flow in the coronary artery. He is passionate about patient medical education and patient advocacy.
Dr. Chung is also an accomplished educator, having served as a lecturer and clinical instructor for medical students and resident physicians for three years. Dr. Chung is particularly interested in the field of cardiology; particularly the latest technologies emerging for cardiac care that can help physicians provide better care to their patients. With his vast experience and expertise, he aspires to become a physician-scientist and educator, making significant contributions to the medical community in an academic medical facility.
