Where are you from?
I was raised in Damascus, Syria, however, California has been my home since 2007. I studied chemistry at University of California, Davis; then obtained my masters degree, also in chemistry, from California State University, Fresno.

Where did you go to Medical School?
International American University, St Lucia.

Why did you choose NW Internal Medicine Residency?
I was impressed by how involved and committed they are in the communities they serve, as well as their emphasis on providing a nurturing, supportive learning environment for resident physicians.

What are your professional interests within Medicine?
I am interested in hospital medicine because I enjoy orchestrating medical care within the team to create individualized plans that align with patients’ wishes and concerns, as well as fostering trusting relationships built on effective communication with the patients and their families.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I enjoy horseback riding, hiking and dancing salsa. What are you most excited about for life in Tucson? I love the warm weather in Tucson, as well as the wide variety of food it has to offer.

Favorite way to spend a day off?
Relaxing by the pool and reading a book.

Top item on your “Bucket list”?
Skydiving.
